Useful information for students, parents and carers

If you have any questions about your future, or your child’s future, please give us a call or email, or pop in for a chat. Your class teacher is the first point of contact, and they can refer you to our careers advisor, who meets with all students regularly during their time in KS4, and will also happily meet with parents, carers and families if you want to be more involved in supporting your child with their next steps.

National Careers & Apprenticeship Services – This is the Government’s hub for careers advice for people of all ages where you can find help with drafting letters, CVs, exploring your skills or seeking careers advice. – the National Apprenticeship Service website provides general advice and information about apprenticeships.  This website also advertises current vacancies.

Other websites – videos about what it is like to do different jobs. – detailed advice on how you can get into work in a wide range of different types of job. – an interactive careers website to help with ‘careers matching’ programme to help with career choice (log in for a free guest pass). – opportunities that exist for people who do not want to go to university, including things like apprenticeships, training programmes, etc. – this site has useful videos, demonstrating how to complete the online applications for many top companies in the UK, as well as providing detailed information on salaries and interviews. Applications forms can be printed off directly from this site. – displays current apprenticeship and school leaver programme opportunities, to the latest school leaver job news, and gives career journey advice. – gives live apprenticeship vacancies, organised by sector or area. Also offers plenty of advice on making applications.
