There are occasions when your child may need medicine in the academy e.g. inhaler, epi-pen, prescription medicine.
Parents/carers wishing the academy staff to administer medication need to complete the appropriate form located within our Supporting pupils with Medical Conditions Policy (please click here).
Medication should be delivered by the parent/carer to the academy office.
The medication will be kept and administered by the designated person and a log kept of the date and time medication is issued. The staff member will sign the record after seeing the child take his or her medication.
It is the parent/carer’s responsibility to keep the academy informed of any change to medication or dosage.
All unclaimed medication will be disposed of at the end of the summer term.
If your child is prescribed medication on a daily basis (that should be taken prior to them arriving at the academy) and this has not been administered, then you may be requested to bring the relevant medication into the academy to administer on site.
